I painted this portrait in the space of two weeks. That’s a lot less time than I usually take to make a painting, but I’ve worked with still less to make this piece for example. Usually I need six or eight months to make a painting, but I’m working of five, ten, or twenty pieces at once. It took me nine months to make all fifty-six paintings in this series.
