Blog / 2016 / Can You Trust Your Gynecologist to Treat Your Endometriosis?

March 23, 2016

Don’t be discouraged if you meet bad doctors. In the seven years since my diagnosis, I’ve seen six doctors—three western medicine physicians, a Chinese medicine practitioner, a naturopath, and a physical therapist—to treat my endo. One of them was completely unqualified, one of them was amazing, and the other four each had good things to offer even though I didn’t always agree with their methods. With those four, I sometimes had to lobby hard to use the treatment I wanted instead of the one they thought I should use, but all it took was being assertive and being willing to walk out.

Remember: you are the expert on your body and doctors are just your advisers.

For prints and things of this cute little uterus, go to my Redbubble shop. The original drawing already has a forever home but there are probably other drawings that you can buy.
