The yabby is an Australian crayfish, which comes in a range of colors depending on water clarity, with the bright blue being just one possibility. This sort variation is common in nature. In fact, one of the other animals in Baby Sees ABCs, the kodkod, can have black-on-yellow spotted fur like the cat I painted, but it can also have black-on-black spotted fur.
