Communing with Fireflies

I’ve painted plenty of double portraits over the years—couples and mothers with their sons as well as cat lovers and their special kitties among others—but this is my first ever bug-person double portrait. It’s part of my COVID-across-America road trip series, which also includes this surreal whale painting.
