This is one of a handful of posthumous portraits I have done over the years. Since I prefer to meet and photograph subjects myself, painting the deceased isn’t really my thing, though I actually painted Lois twice because her husband wanted a painting for each of their children. In this case it was slightly easier to do a posthumous portrait because I had video footage of the subject.
