Larry Jacobs’ Democracy under Fire features my artwork on the cover. Tiki Torch Trump was painted immediately after the former president’s infamous “very fine people on both sides” statement in support of the white supremacists who marched in Charlottesville, Virginia. It pleases me immensely that one of my most negative artworks has had such a positive outcome, especially since the image marks a turning point for me as an artist.
