Blog / 2022 / A Wall of Wanted Posters
October 24, 2022
When I first decided to hang my new series of portraits in a window instead of in a more traditional gallery setting, it didn’t occur to me that the exhibit might look a little like a wall of wanted posters, but the effect is unmistakable.
Faces don’t usually get displayed in a window unless they belong to people who’ve done something criminal, and that’s kind of the point of Friend Request. These are wanted posters, for the criminally kind!
These 44 people and pets are well-placed for their wickedly welcoming behavior. Lambertville, the town where I met all these faces, is a special place and one where people like making special.
It’s hard to say when I’ll ever be done with this series. I already have eight more portraits I’d like to add to Friend Request.
All the paintings I’ve made so far, including these portraits of Lou and his dog Marco as well as Sonya and her cat Biscuit, are currently on display in Winifred Weiss’ studio window in Lambertville. There will be a reception on November 5th on the sidewalk in front of the window.

Lambertville, NJ 08530
Open: now through November 30th
Hours: whenever (you can look in from the street)
Reception: Saturday November 5th from 1p to 3p
And if you go see the show before Halloween, don’t miss Winifred’s terrifyingly adorable decorations. They’re in the planter right near the door.
