Blog / 2015 / Why I Don’t Use Ads

September 28, 2015

Recently an organization forced advertising onto my content on my platform, and it made me realize just how strongly I feel about this topic. For more about how flesh-and-blood people can and should do business differently than corporate people, check out this article.

There are plenty of ways to receive support as an artist that don’t involve foisting ads on people. For starters, there’s the non-financial help of people commenting on your art or sharing it. This support is very real and the effort should not be overlooked. And then of course people can buy your original art or reproductions of your art or they can even donate to your practice.

This marigold painting already has a forever home, but there prints and other pretties in my Redbubble shop.
