A few days ago, Mistress Clarissa approached me about drawing something to go with a poem she’d written. I answered with a video of me doing the drawing as well as with an image of the drawing, and she responded with this video.
I love how Clarissa reversed the footage. It’s such a simple act, but one that works so well with her words.
I collaborate a lot: every time I paint a portrait I’m working closely with another artist, one who has created a life worth painting. That said, I don’t collaborate nearly enough outside of the artist-subject relationship. Allowing another brain-eye-hand to enter into the making is as startling as it is inspiring.
