September 30, 2010
A couple of months ago, I set out to challenge myself with a very large painting, a full-length life size portrait of my partner and myself. I’ve known for a while that I prefer working on my paintings when they’re off the easel and laid on the floor, but it wasn’t until I started to work on this enormous piece that I understood how much I depend on being able to transition smoothly between working vertically and working horizontally. This painting taught me that lesson in a very eloquent way and the video shows it.
This video was filmed by David and edited by me!
Art is the love of other humans made tangible across space and time. When a person can’t get a hug from a friend, art is there to make them feel seen and understood. Please share my work with your favorite people!
Maybe this post made you think of something you want to tell me? I’d love to hear from you.
