When I started mucking out Lia’s barn with her, I was shy with Samson, Shimmer, and Autumn, worrying about bossing these huge creatures around in their own space. But then Lia explained that horses do better when you approach them with a confident communication style, and it made sense to me. I do better when people aren’t nervous around me as well.
