Like all lemurs, indris are found exclusively in Madagascar. They tend to live in small family units, consisting of a female and male pair with their young, with the females leading the group during travel and generally dominating in the social hierarchy. I feel a kinship to these animals—and not just because I am a woman who is not afraid to lead. I love climbing trees too!
