This painting is part of my COVID-across-America road trip series, which features many of the nationals parks and monuments we visited, from Bryce Canyon to Yellowstone. Of all the extraordinary places we saw, the one I’m evoking in this painting was my favorite! I loved the starkness of a lava field, layered over with life.
