This first attempt at painting on panel left me scared of this support for quite some time. In fact, it wasn’t until nearly a decade later that I fully got over my fear. In the interim, I did some experimenting with painting on wood—like here and here for example—and that’s what helped me to decide that I wanted to own panel once and for all.
That was part of the reason why I painted all 56 images for Crime Against Nature on wood in 2012. The other reason is that I knew those images would end up being enjoyed in book form, and paintings on panel look gorgeous scanned.
