Blog / 2020 / The #LifesaversFanArt Campaign Is Catching On!
September 23, 2020
So far, the only artists who are making #LifesaversFanArt are professionals—people like Pat Krishnamurthy, Luis Alves, Cathy Hasty, and me.
But I’m hoping that more will join in our effort. The concept is straightforward:
- Choose a pop culture character you love.
- Make an image of the character wearing a blue surgical style mask.
- Share your image widely and tag it #LifesaversFanArt!
Create the image in any medium you like. You could paint or draw or handmake a photo collage, like Luis Alves did above for his Corona Kim.
The goal is to flood the interwebs with masked up fan art to promote healthy behavior and a sense of civic responsibility during the pandemic.
The more of us who are making these images and sharing them, the more likely that those who are ambivalent about wearing a mask might feel encouraged to do it!
Please contact me if you have any questions about participating in this project or about the images I have made for it. My #LifesaversFanArt pieces are for sale for $150 plus shipping—see all currently available artworks. Contact Pat, Luis, and Cathy directly at the links above if you are interested in their work!
Maybe this post made you think of something you want to share with me? Or perhaps you have a question about my art? I’d love to hear from you!
