Blog / 2020 / My First Food Art

April 16, 2020

I was also inspired to paint fresh vegetables because, for while there, I didn’t have access to many. I’d been following the stay-at-home orders as scrupulously as possible, and, when I did go out for groceries, there were shortages—especially of things I could actually afford. As someone who was part bunny before she even became a vegan, this was trying, so I decided to paint my happy foods. (A friend has since pointed me to a group that delivers vegetables locally and for okay prices, so my inner bunny is now satisfied, thankyouverymuch!)

These mixed media pieces are each priced at $90 plus shipping—see all currently available artworks. There are prints or other pretty items with these images in my Redbubble shop: parsley, jalapeño, and leek.

Art is the love of other humans made tangible across space and time. When a person can’t get a hug from a friend, art is there to make them feel seen and understood. Please share my work with your favorite people!

Maybe this post made you think of something you want to tell me? Or perhaps you have a question about my art? I’d love to hear from you!
