I didn’t manage to capture it here, but Coco has quite the smile. It’s a dopey grin showing all her teeth, which she flashes for just a moment and only if you haven’t seen her for a while.

Similarly, I didn’t manage to capture Nutmeg’s nuttiness: when you scritch this normally very chill dog just the right way, Nutmeg carries on like she’s arguing with herself.

Nonhuman subjects aren’t always very easy to photograph.
