Stop, go, and slow: traffic lights are so good at communicating these straightforward messages. If just one light breaks down, so does the flow of vehicles, and the same is true for the infinitely more complex information we try to send to each other in our daily lives. Stop, go, and slow might be the most important messages to convey at the intersection between my life and someone else’s, but I like to imagine a full rainbow directing all interpersonal traffic.
