I’ve always loved how water striders live in the in-between, existing both in the water and outside of it. The “neither here nor there” of it feels like a poetic echo of the fragility that I think all sensitive humans experience now and again.

In what ways are you neither of one place nor the other? How does your vulnerability affect the way you see other people’s vulnerability? Who are the space striders that skim across the surface of your enormity? When are you like the universe, infinite and unimaginable and as old as time?
