I love the texture in the blue of Pat’s shirt and the magenta of Eleanor’s cardigan, and it comes in part from watering down the paint quite a bit and pouring it onto the piece. I started working this way in 2008 after I injured my right hand but still had to complete this series for a deadline. These paintings show that same technique in the background especially.
