This pair of portraits was designed specifically for Claire and Dénes’ lifestyle. Dénes is Hungarian and Claire is American, but they met and currently live in France. I wanted to be sure that the paintings I made to celebrate their wedding would be able to keep up with this international couple. That’s part of why, when I painted Claire and Dénes again in 2011, I did so like this.
