I liked Bud the moment I met him: he was wearing colorful rubber clogs just like mine. Funny little coincidences like this one matter a lot when I meet someone for an interview. Anything I have in common with the subject makes the photo-session easier for both me and the subject. A particularly fun instance of similarity was with this portrait because the subject is tall like me. In fact, she’s taller than me, and I don’t meet a lot of women who are.
