This image is part of a series of painted drawings that I created to illustrate my book about why I don’t copyright my art. It’s actually the cover of the book, and, in a sense, it’s a combination of the covers of the two books I wrote before it: Art Marketing which uses a self-portrait and Crime Against Nature which shows bears. What I mean by that is that Share the Bear is a painting of my best self, the person—or bear!—that I want to be.
