There’s something so intimate and calming about watching someone you love sleep, and I painted this portrait of my sweetheart to capture a bit of that feeling. I’ve painted him a number of times and not usually sleeping. Here he is photographing me, and, as a bonus, there’s also a portrait of him by Becca Bernstein in which he’s doing Tai Chi. In this portrait, he’s playing his bass and, in this one, he’s showing off his hairiness. Here he is with a pup he quite loves, and here he’s with a person who adores him.
